Have you found your vehicle in the list? The thing is Toyota is recalling nearly 700,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the US due to issues with the fuel pumps.
Japanese automaker warns that “the fuel pumps may stop operating. If this were to occur, warning lights and messages may be displayed on the instrument panel, and the engine may run rough. This can result in a vehicle stall, and the vehicle may be unable to be restarted. If a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash. The pumps can stop operating, the company said, leading to engine failure”
It’s not yet clear if the issue with the fuel pump has led to any accidents or injuries. The car giant is currently investigating this issue.
Right now, Toyota doesn’t have a remedy for the faulty fuel pumps, but when the remedy is available, there will be no cost to vehicle owners. All known owners of the affected vehicles will be notified via mail in March.
